NEW YORK CITY’S OWN DAVE’S TRUE STORY AMONG THE 2007 INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS
VOX POPULI WINNERS
New York based band Dave’s True Story is among the diverse group of artists chosen as the Independent Music Awards (IMAs) Vox Populi Winners. The IMAs is a program that promotes independent artists, labels & releases to 11 Million+ music fans & industry insiders.
Now in it’s 7th year, this is the first time the IMAs has opened the voting process to include fans and industry voters that were not on the official judging panel, which this year included Peter Gabriel, Wynonna, Suzanne Vega and Ozzy Osbourne among many others.
Through press releases and outreaches to fans & industry, thousands have cast their votes at the online Vox Populi Jukebox at the Independent Music Awards site, creating some new winners - some by a landslide, some by a slim margin - and some voting upsets.
Designed to provide more opportunities for indie artists to get heard and win new fans, these IMA Vox Populi Winners are promoted to industry and music fans via print, online and other promotional initiatives.

It is my great pleasure to report that the Dave’s True Story song “Everlasting No” was selected as the Winner of the "Song For Film & TV category" in the 6th Annual Independent Music Awards! "Everlasting No," from our CD NATURE, was featured in the Fox Searchlight film TRUST THE MAN, currently in theatrical release worldwide - coming soon to Cable and DVD.
Our song was selected from the largest number of entries the program has received to date. So this was no small feat, to say the least.
The announcement of the Winners is just the start of promotion and marketing initiatives that begin today with a formal press release that will be serviced to national & regional print, television and radio outlets. The release will also be available to international outlets via distribution to the wire services.

eMusic, the cool indie-friendly digital download site that features more than 2 million songs, will also be promoting program winners in 11 of its e-newsletters throughout 2007.
